I was born in Long Branch, NJ, on August 29, 1923. I am Jewish. I went through the Long Branch school system. Soon after I graduated I was inducted into the Army. I took my basic training at Fort Belvoir VA, from whence I was sent to Camp Crowder MO. I was selected to take ASTP at Iowa. I was one of four boys in our family, and we were all in the service. My oldest brother was keilled in Aachen, Germany. He left a son.

I attended three 3-month courses of Basic Engineering at ASTP. Then I was sent to Madison WI, where I started electronic training, which took me to Truax field. From there I went to Boca Raton, where I graduated as a Loran radar mechanic; then to Orleans, France, as the war ended in Europe.

When I got out of the service, I attended and graduated from the State Teachers College in Trenton, NJ. I then taught at the Signal School at Fort Monmouth, then went into business as the proprietor of a shoe store. Later I worked as a parimutuel employee at the newly opened racetrack at the Meadowlands.

I retired in 1968 and am now collecting Social Security and a small pension from the Meadowlands.

My wife and I have a son, who has a boy and a girl, and a daughter who has a son. We are both very happy enjoying our retired life.
