War experience: 248th Engr. Combat Bn. -- landed in France July 6, 1944. Saw service in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. Got as far east a as Hanover. Discharged December 1945.

Career: I have worked with city governments, USAID, UNDP, and US and foreign consultants. My work has involved conducting and managing feasibility studies, surveys, design, and planning, programming and maintenance studies of highway routes and systems. In the later years I also worked on railroad rehabilitation.

I have worked over 80 percent of the time in a total of ten foreign countries including Lebanon, Indonesia, Taiwan, Australia, Nigeria, Panama, Philippines, South Korea, Yemen and Thailand, with multiple assignments in Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand. My professional career has spanned a total of 44 years ending with my voluntary retirement at age 71.

I was married in 1954 and have five children and six grandchildren. I am presently single and enjoy living at the southern end of the Willamette Valley in Oregon where I am one hour away from both the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade mountain range. Life is beautiful.
