SW writes: Bob called me on August 9, 1999 after I found his email address. However I have not received anything from him since then, so the following is based on our phone conversation and his resume on the Rinehart Laboratories website.

After Basic ASTP Bob ended up in the infantry. He took part in the battle of Huertgen Forest (September 1944 - February 1945), I think in the 84th Infantry Division. In the recent book 'Citizen Soldiers' the historian Stephen Ambrose writes that "[the Battle of Huertgen Forest] was fought under conditions as bad as American soldiers ever had to face, even including the Wilderness and Meuse-Argonne" and "the 84th Division walked into [the Siegfried Line] without so much as the benefit of a briefing by combat officers".

After the war Bob earned a B.S. Chemistry, 1949 at SUI, M.S. Analytical Chemistry, 1950 at SUI, Ph.D. Physical Chemistry, 1959 at Minnesota. During the '50s & '60s he worked in analytical chemistry at Abbot, U.S. Naval Radiological Defense Lab, Upjohn, Lockheed & Huffman Lab.

In 1969 he founded & is still the president of Rinehart Laboratories, Arvada, Colorado, working with a diverse range of analytical, development and regulatory studies and problems.
