Theodore C. Concilio, 88, of 92 Andrews St, Massena passed away Saturday evening (October 17, 2009) at his home
surrounded by family and friends. Memorial services will be held Sunday 11:00 am. at the Philips Memorial Home,
Massena. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. Interment
will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
Ted was born on March 16, 1921 in Massena, to Casear and Julia (Grob) Concilio. In October of 1942, Ted was drafted
into the Army where he was trained as a clerk/typist, topographic draftsman and then activated into the Army Specialized
Training program (ASTP). He attended three semesters of basic engineering and later trained as a rifleman before
joining 80th Infantry Division, serving under General Patton's 3rd Army in the 317 Infantry Battalion.
In England he was trained in communications. On August 2, 1944, D-Day, he landed on Utah Beach and acted as a radio
man for Company B. Ted's service included many pivotal campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge in Luxembourg,
the rescue of the 101st Airborne in Bastogne and the liberation of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp. Highly decorated
for his service, Ted received the distinguished Certificate of Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star, among others.
At WW II's end, Ted was transferred to the 9th Infantry and assigned to play the flute in a ceremonial marching
bank which traveled throughout the Bavarian Alps and Western Germany.
Upon Ted's return to the States he married the former June Tyo and worked as an accountant and then as the manager
of Fumier's Auto Service in Potsdam. She predeceased him, in 1983, Ted married Vera A. Fortune of Tupper Lake.
He became the owner and operator of the Flying A Sunoco Station, which he operated until he retired. Ted was also
the co-founder of the Stardusters musical group, playing big band music throughout the area. During his retirement,
Ted worked at Computerland installing and repairing computers in between his golf game and bowling. He will be
dearly missed.
Ted is survived by his wife, Vera Concilio, His only sister, Cannella Concilio, predeceased him.
Errol "Joe" Dubois
> COLUMBUS - Errol "Joe" DuBois, age 83, passed from this life on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, in Columbus. He was born on Aug. 29, 1923, in Superior, to Errol and Marie (Brewster) DuBois. He was a graduate of Madison East High School and attended the University of Iowa. He married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Kopp, on Feb. 20, 1943, at Camp Phillips, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in both the Pacific and European Theaters. He spent most of his working life as a meat cutter in Madison. Joe's interests included renovating old houses, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. The couple moved to Poplar, Wis., in 1968, where Joe was employed for the state of Wisconsin as a tax auditor. In 1990, they moved to Columbus, to be near their children. Survivors include two sons, Michael (Pam) of Janesville and Jerry (Linda) of Madison; two daughters, Trish (Dr. Tim) O'Neil of Columbus and Kathleen (Jeff) Fujan of Poplar; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn, in 2004; a brother, John; two sisters, Betty DuBois and Dessa Colvin; and by a great-grandson, Hunter Mortenson. A memorial gathering in celebration of Joe's life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at JONES-JENSEN FUNERAL and CREMATION, 248 S. Ludington St., Columbus. Howard S. "Pat" Patterson Howard S. "Pat" Patterson, 86, was the beloved husband for 58 years
to Bernardine; loving father of Gwen (John) Tobin, Marcia (Tom) Detrick and Dale (Katherine) Patterson; cherished
grandfather of Cara (Jay) Crisostomo; Drew Detrick, and Risa, Natalie, Samantha and Graham Patterson; and devoted
uncle of 28 nieces and nephews, and 46 great-nieces and -nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his sisters,
Gladys (Ben) Priefert, Dr. Ruth Patterson, Frances (Russell) McCreight and Jennie (Steve) Davenport; brothers,
Luther (Faye) Patterson, Dr. Kenneth (Jeanette) Patterson, Dr. Fred (Dorothy) Patterson and Dr. Earl (Betty) Patterson;
and five nephews. Mr. Patterson enjoyed a long career with the long lines department of AT&T, retiring in 1982.
He started with the telephone company in 1947, in a management training program and was part of the team that developed
and installed the infrastructure for the first coast-to-coast television network. Mr. Patterson held various management
positions in Omaha, Kansas City, Cincinnati and Atlanta, before returning to Chicago as area accounting manager
for the Midwest region. Following his retirement, for more than 20 years, Howard volunteered at Northwest Community
Hospital in an ombudsman role as a patient visitor. He was a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons for
over 50 years. Mr. Patterson was born on a farm in Reynolds, Neb., to Samuel and Nellie Tripp Patterson, on the
original homestead land. He enjoyed the "small town" feeling of community with his friends throughout
his life. During World War II, Howard was selected as a participant in the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP)
at the University of Iowa, where he later completed his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. He
served in the Pacific arena in Leyte. Mr. Patterson is particularly remembered for his loving presence, kindness
to others, integrity, and his sense of humor. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Arlington
Heights on Friday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a reception. Memorial contributions may be
made to the American Heart Association or to the First Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights, Ill.

I can confirm that Duane Seeley is deceased. He and I kept in touch for many years until his death approximately
15 years ago. He and his wife lived near Boyne City, Michigan on a farm. Among his "crops" was a very
large number of children (10, I think). He also barbered part time to help support them. He was a wonderful guy
and I still miss him.
On March 14, 2010, age 87, longtime Haddonfield resident and beloved husband of Ruth J. (Nee Zepf). Loving father of Cheryl Zeyher of Ocala, FL, Craig of Haddonfield, NJ and Glenn of Naples, FL. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, Kai and Megan Zeyher and Suzanne (Kevan) Kyba and 1 great grandson Ashdon Kyba. Mr. Zeyher graduated from Haddonfield Memorial HS, Class of '41. He served in the US Army during WWII. He became an Engineer and patent attorney and worked for Ford Motor Co. in Philadelphia for 25 years and for Atlantic Richfield for 12 years. Additionally, he did pro bono work for the Dept. of Family Services assisting children.
