Dear Mr. Wright,

Thanks so much for your information on the ASTP & my father's participation in this program. We were unable to confirm details with my father before his death on December 1.

From his papers we have ascertained the following:

entered service US Army 12-16-42
discharged 1-27-46
served in 271st Infantry Regt, 69th Division, Company C, 4th Platoon
ranks Private, Platoon Sgt, Staff Sgt
served in ETO Rhineland & Central Europe campaigns
received American Service Medal, European Service Medal (2 campaign clusters),
Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, & the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service

He was a member of the American Legion & served as its local commander for a number of years.

Should we locate any additional information in his papers regarding ASTP, might your organization still be interested?

Sincerely,
Mary Ellen Kreher
